its ‘daras na mile’ . u see, as Sujata has pointed out, ‘nayan tarse’ because Paro ka ‘daras’ or ‘darshan’ nahi mil raha hai. And about ‘charas na mile’ – good joke – but it can’t be ‘charas na mile’ coz at that time Dev was getting all the charas, bhang, ganja, alchohol that he wanted.

secondly, its ‘biser gaye, kithe’ i.e. ‘where have u got lost’.

But what about the lyrics of other Dev D songs? Not getting Duniya, Hiknaal, Ek hulchul si, Mahi mennu nahi karna pyaar, etc.

Rudra, i think u’ll get Pardesi in hidilyrix.net – not sure of the website, but google search ‘Dev D lyrics’ or ‘lyrics of hindi songs’ – u’ll get quite a few lyrics. thats how I got here.

u guys, don’t u like the songs of the next Anurag Kashyap flick – ‘Gulaal’ ?

Hey Guys, The correction is here. It’s

NAYAN TARSE, NAYAN TARSE, DARASH (which is meant DARSHAN=VISION/GLIMPSE) NA MILE.

It means that: My eyes are aspiring/looking/searching for you and I am unable to have a glimpse of yours.

Guys knowing Hindi can understand better.

It is correct when rhymed with: Nayan tarse, nayan tarse.. Darash na mile.

oye Champion its Bisar gaye for sure …. Its used extensively in rural MP ( Madhya Pradesh),India and
BISAR GAYE( rural Hindi) = BHOOL GAYE (Standard HINDI) = FORGOT(Angrezi)

I wonder why so many people insist that it is ‘taras’ and not ‘daras’, ‘taras na mile’ makes no sense, ‘daras na mile’ does, as long as you know Hindi.
