Red colour flowing into the waters of Sydney
There are few things in life that I enjoy more than fireworks launched from a 101-storey building.Photo taken at the foot of Taipei 101 -the current record holder for “tallest building in the world” (atleast by some recognized criteria) at 00:00, 2009. +8:00hrs GMT.
Happy new years, everyone! Best of luck in 2009.

The New Year’s Day fireworks at Cromer, which are easily the best thing you can do on New Year’s Day and they don’t cost anything either. The promenade and the steps up to the town get packed 30 minutes before, so down to the beach is the best place to head with your tripod. It’s bloody freezing, but you get great reflections. I had to manual focus everything, which, on a beach in the dark, is surprisingly difficult, and I also chose manual mode. I just got lucky really.
